This felt earbud holder is super easy, requires no special machines, and takes only 15 minutes, start to finish to complete!
The challenge for this months craft lightning was to create something in less than 15 minutes using felt. I was really excited to have a chance to make this felt earbud holder, because the idea has been floating around in my head for a while. If you would like to make your own, read on for the full how to!
Felt Earbud Holder – Materials
You will need:
- felt (I am using the sky sampler from Cricut, I love these colors!)
- hook and loop tape (i.e. velcro)
- hot glue gun + glue sticks
- fabric scissors (these Cricut ones are my fave)
This project is easy to complete by hand, but if you have a Cricut machine, you can use it to make the project even faster!
Felt Earbud Holder – Instructions
To start, trace a credit card or gift card onto your felt, and then use fabric scissors to cut it out. Next, fold up your earbuds to see where you should place the velcro. (I like to keep the actual earpieces inside the earbud holder, because otherwise I end up losing the little silicone pieces all of the time.)
Hot glue the velcro in place, and the first part of the project is complete.
To make the bow, cut three pieces of felt in the following sizes:
- 4.5″ x 0.75″
- 3″ x 0.75″
- 5″ x 0.25″
Cut notches from the ends of the 3″ piece, and glue the ends of the 4.5″ piece together to create a loop. Glue the overlapping portion of the loop to the middle of the 3″ piece. Pinch together, and use the narrow piece to wrap around the middle of the bow. Hot glue in the back to secure, and snip off any excess. (I wrapped it around twice to make sure it was tight and secure.)
Hot glue your bow to the flap of your earbud wrap, and you’re done.
That’s it – so simple, right? You’re earbuds will stay tangle free and you’ll never search your bag for a missing tip again. (I stuck the tips out for the picture, but I normally tuck them in, as shown two images above.)
