I looked around my craft room the other day and realized I had a LOT of craft supplies. As I started tidying up, I thought about what I would do if I ever needed to downsize. What supplies could I just never live without?
That train of thought is what brought me to this post – my top ten, absolute favorite, must have craft supplies on the planet, and where you can get them for yourself. Have a read through and see if you agree with any or if there are some items you would add!
My Top 10 Must Have Craft Supplies are…
1. American Crafts Glitter (and Glitter Glue and Glitter Tape)
Is it cheating to put these three in one? Maybe, but it’s my blog and I’m going to say it’s not. I love everything about every glitter product from American Crafts. It adheres really well and doesn’t leave a trail all over your house, and the glitter glue has a really high glitter to glue ratio (have you seen the cheap dollar store glitter glue? It’s mostly glue with a little glitter). And the glitter tape – well, imagine glitter, ribbon, and double sided tape were all thrown into a blender. This is what the result would be. You can purchase any of these products online at JoAnn or at most major craft stores.
It was this amazing glitter that I used to create that fabulous gold glittered anniversary frame, remember that one?
2. We R Memory Keepers Sticky Thumb adhesive runner
Never deal with annoying double sided tape again! I started using this runner less than a year ago and I have burned through 10 refills, easily. I use it for everything – sticking together banners, invitations, cards, you name it. It doesn’t skip or jam like some other runners I’ve used in the past. This one is definitely the best I’ve come across! (You can purchase them here.)
These made quick work of assembling these bakery style treat bags that cost only $2 for 50 bags!
3. DecoArt’s Multi Surface Paint
It paints everything – I don’t need to say anymore! I love the vibrancy of the colors more than anything though, and there are over 40 shades in the collection. I think I have them all! I love their new shrimp and soft jade colors that they sent us home with at SNAP – very on trend! Find them at most craft stores or shop DecoArt online here.
I used three whole bottles of this stuff for our Shake It Up party, including our Paint Splattered Photo Booth Backdrop and Paint Splattered Picture Frame Vase.
4. DCWV Stacks
The selection is incredible, and they almost always come with glitter or foil sheets included, along with cute journalling cards. They coordinate so well, and are so beautiful you could even frame the paper and hang it as art! DCWV paper stacks are available at Michaels, along with many other craft stores.
I used DCWV’s coloured burlap stack to make these ruffled flower headbands, and their Honey Chic paper stack provided the backgrounds for this Mini 3D Photo Gallery.
5. Cricut Explore Pens
I love, love, love that my new Cricut Explore can write with a pen (and cut at the same time!) My favorite is the thin lined midnight pen, which comes with the box – I’m on my second one already! I love that it gives a hand drawn look, but is so much smoother and steadier than my hand could ever dream of being! You can shop the Cricut store online, and can use the code FREESHIP35 for free shipping on orders over $35.
I used the pens to create the handwriting part of these washi tape backpack tags.
