Use a Fuse tool from We R Memory Keepers to create your own custom size treat bags for everything from candy kebabs to cookies!
These candy kebabs were created for our soccer team’s year end party, and I made them green with a little yellow to match our teams lime green color. They included gumballs, gummy candy, sour strips, and taffy (which melted!), which were all threaded onto a bamboo skewer. I had cellophane bags for packaging, but they were much to large, and when folded over, the many layers obscured the pretty view of the candy below. That’s where the Fuse came into play – I used it to essentially cut the bags in half.
Custom Treat Bag Supplies
To make your own custom size treat bags, here’s what you will need:
- cellophane bags
- Fuse tool with cutting blade
- Fuse ruler
- glass cutting mat (I used a thick plastic clipboard but it did melt a little, so I highly recommend a glass mat.)
To start, find the middle point across the width of your bag. Make a small mark with the Fuse.
Turn the ruler around and use it as a guide to cut straight down the middle of the bag.
Tips For Using the Fuse Tool
Voila! You have two bags. You can also fuse together cellophane wrap and ziploc bags. The key is to leave excess though – the seal will come apart if you try to slip something large between the layers if there is not enough room for it to stretch.
I placed my candy kebabs in stick first, and poked it through the sealed end of the bag. The top was gathered and tied with matching baker’s twine (also from We R Memory Keepers). Wouldn’t these make great party favours?
