Since Thanksgiving is fast approaching, I know many of you are in gift buying mode. Nailing down the perfect gift for everyone in your life can be tough, but I’m here to help out with at least one of those gifts. I’ve compiled a list of the best gifts for crafters – whoever that may be! Get ready to earn some major brownie points with these awesome gifts!

Cricut Explore or Maker
You had to know this one was going to top my list, right? I mean after all, I have boldly proclaimed my love for this machine and compared it to its inferior competitors, not once, but twice, and even compared the new Explore Air 2 model to the original Explore. If I didn’t have one, it would definitely be at the top of my wishlist.
Where to Buy: Cricut’s online store is usually the best deal. (Free shipping to USA and Canada for the month of November with the code FREESHIPNOV, and they always have awesome Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales).
DIY Planners
While I don’t personally own one of these (yet), they are apparently all the rage this year! Everyone seems to be getting into the planner business, from Heidi Swapp to the Happy Planner, to Michael’s own Recollection brand. For those just getting started, try to grab a box kit, which will have everything they need (well, until the addiction sets in anyway).
Where to Buy: These can be purchased at many online stores, such as Michaels, or the discount craft site Blitsy.
Cordless Glue Gun
This is one of those things that you don’t really realize you need until you use it. I have one, and I absolutely love it. Not only does it free me from fighting with that horrible cord (do they ever lie flat?) Also, its a great emergency saver when gems come loose on those dance outfits on the way to recital. Don’t ask how I know. I have the one in the image below, but if you’re worried about battery usage, I suggest getting a hybrid – they can be used with the cord or without!
Where to buy: Amazon seems to have the best selection and prices on the web. Plus, they always have a great Black Friday sale. Head over to pick your model out now though so you can check out quickly once the sale starts!
Fuse Tool
I love my Fuse. It is the coolest little product that allows you to create pockets or sleeves out of plastic or acetone sheets. I used them to create treat bags for these candy kebobs, and my daughter uses it for her project life album (it creates the coolest waterfall photo sleeves). Watch this video to see the Fuse tool in action.
Where to Buy: Blitsy (We R Memory Keepers version), or Michaels (Project Life version).
TomBow Dual End Brush Tip Markers
These were at the top of my wishlist last year, and I love them! The brush tip end has a flexible tip for practicing hand lettering (Dawn over at Dawn Nicole Designs uses them a lot in her amazing lettered pieces), and a fine tip for when you need more precision. Hand lettering is also a huge trend right now, and you can find a ton of books and practice sheets on perfecting the art online. Each pack comes with a blender brush which is great if you are into coloring and shading!
Where to buy: Blitsy (packs and individual colors), or in Canada, on Amazon.ca (individual markers are available, but packs are usually a much better deal).
Pom Pom Maker:
I absolutely love pom poms, so I had to have one of these. My kids have since lost some of the pieces of mine, and so this is making it onto my wishlist for the second time around. These pom pom makers make it so easy to create fluffy little balls of yarn in no time at all. Just wind and cut. It’s so simple even a six year old could do it – but I don’t recommend you let them. They could lose the pieces.
Where to buy: These babies are pretty easy to find. I spotted them on Amazon (both USA and Canada), Blitsy, and Michaels.
Typecast
This is a new product that I haven’t even tried out, but I’ve seen some of the videos online, and it looks awesome! It’s kind of like an old school typewriter, that allows you to add text to everything. It’s aimed mainly at the scrapbooker and paper crafters, since you can insert a journal card and type right onto it, knowing that your text will be placed in exactly the right spot. If your special someone isn’t in love with their handwriting, but love to document memories, this may be exactly the gift they’ve been looking for!
Where to buy: These are available in a few locations online, but Michaels seemed to have the best selection, including an exclusive black one and the online only mint edition, in addition to the standard white.
Craftsy class:
Has your someone special been mentioning a new skill they would like to try? Or something they would like to improve upon? Chances are, there’s an online class that will teach them just that! From watercolor painting to cookie decorating, they really can become a jack of all trades. And the best part is, they don’t have to get out of their pajamas or leave home, and they can work at their own pace. But don’t worry, if you have to leave your home, they have a mobile app so you can “attend class” wherever you are.
Where to buy: I have the most experience with Craftsy, and highly recommend their courses (plus they always have an amazing Black Friday sale with deep discounts on their classes and supplies), but I have also heard great things about CreativeLive. Also, CreativeBug (which has shorter, project based classes) has a sale this week – 3 months access for $1!
Hobby Holster
This is one that I would also love to own! It clings to your desk or table and the silicone is heat resistant up to 400 degrees. Theres a larger pocket and a smaller one, making it perfect for holding a glue gun and glue sticks while you work on projects. I can’t count how many times I’ve had to pull dried glue off things, so this is a great problem solver!
Where to buy: In Canada, you can purchase them on Wayfair.ca or Amazon.ca. In the USA, you can find much better prices and selection (of course) – these are available on Amazon, Wayfair, or Blitsy.
Metal Stamping Set
Another popular trend in crafting is handcrafted jewelry. So many of these involve using metal stamps to create a completely custom and homemade look. I started playing with metal stamping this summer (I made these soccer necklaces that I gave to my daughters team this summer), and it is so much fun. You can buy blank jewelry pieces, or even use washers to make necklaces, keychains, and bracelets.
Where to buy: There are so many options when it comes to metal stamping, because there are so many products available. There are different fonts, blank pieces, tools, etc. For someone starting out, I suggest a everyday font stamp set, a pack of mixed blanks, and a tube of enamel that will make the letters look aged and darker. I found all of my supplies (I purchased the ImpressArt line) at Michaels, but I also found them online at Etsy (for both Canada and USA), and Amazon ( They are available on Amazon.ca, but the prices seemed much higher than on Etsy).
And there you have it – 10 great gift ideas for every crafter in your life. Which do you think you’ll be grabbing this holiday season? Did I miss one that you hope to see under the tree? Let me know in the comments below!
