Halloween SVG – Trick or Treat Yo’Self Sign
Thanks to this SVG file, all of the hard work is done for you. In fact, this craft will come together in less than 15 minutes! Once you download the file, you simply upload into Cricut Design Space, and size it to fit your board. I got this 10″ slatted wood piece at Michaels, and it was only about $7 (Canadian, of course). I really loved the stained wood – you could make so many wonderful pieces with this!
Once my Maker was finished cutting the vinyl, I went to work and weeded it (for more info on how to upload SVGs to Cricut Design Space, view this post). There are two versions of this SVG in the file you will download – one is the words and design on their own, and one is the words and design inside of a circle. I used the circle version so that I could pull out the words and the wood would show through. I also took the insides out of the O (in or) and the A (in treat) and replaced them with stars that I had weeded out.
Use transfer paper to lift your vinyl off the backing and onto the wood. Center, and then use the scraper tool to smooth down. Peel off the transfer tape, and you’re done!
Note: I also went back with my scraper tool and pushed it down in the cracks a little. This made the vinyl crack and look more like a painted design.
I love this sign – and the quote (any Parks & Rec fans in the house? The treat yo’self episodes are some of my faves!)
